Transfer of Aflex Operations to Bradley Park, Huddersfield
Aflex Hose Limited, part of the Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group, is pleased to announce its relocation to a new purpose-built, manufacturing and office facility at Bradley Park, Huddersfield.
Located just a few miles from its current main site, the new facility will consolidate its four UK manufacturing operations into one, improving production flow while providing space for the company’s continued successful growth into new and existing markets.
To ensure customers receive the same high-quality products after the move as they did before, Aflex will transfer its existing production equipment to the new site, phased to ensure continuity of supply.
There will be no change in raw material type, grade or source, during or as a result of the move, nor will there be any change in processing method. Following installation, each process line will be re-validated, and its output compared with pre-move production.
Aflex is keenly aware of the need for security of supply for many of its customers and is building additional inventory of finished product to cover any unforeseen events during the move. The transition of operations to the new site will commence in Q2 2020, following a carefully scheduled programme, which will maintain production on the existing sites until transfers have been fully proven.
Alongside the relocation project, Aflex will install new extrusion and convoluting capacity for natural PTFE liner production. This plant will follow the same successful designs used for its existing production equipment and is due for completion in 2021. Production personnel will remain largely unchanged throughout the project.
Target milestones in the transition plan are listed below for your reference. However, with consistency and supply-continuity of paramount importance, the schedule may change as necessary. Please check our website regularly for updates.
Our aim is a seamless transition to the new site, with zero impact on our customers’ businesses, while realising the logistical and quality assurance benefits of consolidated operations. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the move, please contact me directly, or speak to your regular Aflex contact.
